For as long as I can remember, this 5 ingredient broccoli divine recipe has been part of my family’s holiday menu. It makes for an incredibly delicious (some might even call it ‘divine’) vegetable side dish.

Delicious 5 ingredient broccoli divine recipe is perfect for a side dish

I’m so excited to share this family recipe with you today. It’s a comforting dish, when I think of it, I immediately think of the holidays – Thanksgiving and Christmas – broccoli divine is always present! Broccoli is topped with cheddar and crispy buttery crumbles, and is then baked to perfection. It’s also a recipe I HAD to include in my cookbook Fast & Easy Five Ingredient Recipes: A Cookbook For Busy People (the book is on Amazon right now! AND in the book I also share my favorite mashed potatoes recipe, it’s definitely worth purchasing the book before Thanksgiving for all the awesome recipes in there, and they’re all super easy!)

The best side dish is this 5 ingredient broccoli divine recipe

While I was growing up, my mother taught my three sisters and I how to make this dish. Now, no matter where we spend our holidays (with our new in-laws or at family gatherings), whenever we send one another pictures of the spread, you can always spot this dish in the background. Our holidays would just not be complete without it. Do you have dishes like that? Dishes that just MAKE the holiday special? I’d love to hear what your family dishes are! The best 5 ingredient broccoli divine recipe

Over the next few weeks I have a bunch of really great holiday recipes I cannot wait to share with you. AND, I’m always updating my facebook page (are we friends? I’d love to be fb friends with you) with recipe ideas and things I’m making!

This looks delicious. I was looking for a new side dish idea for Thanksgiving and this is it. I love all that cheesy flavor. Can’t wait to make it. And I know my kids will eat broccoli like that too.

    Hello Sweet Phi!!
This looks amazing. What are your thoughts about using fresh broccoli vs frozen? Would you change anything regarding the cooking time or anything else about it?
Looking forward to making this tonight. 😀 Thank you!!

Hi Kayla, hope it turned out well for you. I like using frozen broccoli because it is already cooked. If you use fresh broccoli (which I have done before) I would just cook the broccoli a little bit, separately, before making this dish. 🙂

Wouldn’t it be ok to make in a casserole dish, rather than on a pan? Sounds delish! Thank you!

Pretty sure we don’t have cheddar cheese soup here in Australia ?

Oh my goodness, you are right, I just googled it, and sure enough Campbell’s doesn’t sell it in Australia. I’m so sorry to hear that!
What I would suggest is either omitting it – it would still be super yummy with just the cheddar and bread crumbs, or you could make your own condensed cheddar -like-soup. For this I would use some velveeta cheese and a little bit of milk and warm it together.
      Thanks for commenting!

I forgot where I read it, but it was something abo I forgot where I read it, but it was something about 'normalizing normal/slightly ugly/normal kitchens' and that resonated with me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we moved into our house, my original thought was "I absolutely love the house, but maybe we'll redo the kitchen in 5 years to be all white"
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Why though? Because everyone else is doing that and it's 'cool'?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After having lived in our house for 6+ months, now the most I have dreams of doing is maybe to redo the laminate countertops that are peeling in some places. Maybe. One day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But this isn't some before/after post. It's just a post about saying your kitchen/home is fine the way it is, and if you don't have some pinterest board or desire to change your entire kitchen, that's a-ok.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE looking at beautiful kitchens and spaces, so I'll just continue adding pretty images to my weekly love-lists and leaving it there - for looking at pretty things vs. wishing to change my house or feeling bad about my kitchen.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Personally, I love my house. It feels homey and welcoming, and that's the vibe I'm going to keep going with.
